Personal project resulted from the "Decorative Letterforms" (Creating a Hand-Drawn Alphabet) Class by Annica Lydenberg at SkillShare. The briefing consisted to take an existing font or type and adapt it to create a unique alphabet.
Someday, I was at home and looked throught my window and I saw a bird looking at the mirror of a motorcycle. I didn't care too much about it. But that happened again for a few days. So, one day I took my camera and took some pictures of that birdie. Was it thinking that there was a friend in front of it? Was it trying to make a friend?
I wanted to create an alphabet inspired by that situation.
So, I thought about the following keywords: bird, nest, egg, leaf, wood.
I googled it for images to get inspired.
I wanted to draw an alphabet based in the structure of a ready font, so I look throught many fonts and I picked one bold sans-serif.
The first draw was just a regular alphabet. The next step was to personalize each of the letters.
Get it digital
I scanned it all and finished the lettering and illustration in the computer.
